June 25

Hi Muffin Chops family. I wanted to take a moment to memorialize my dog, Gracie Rose, who has been a huge part of my life for the last 17 years.

My best friend, Gracie Rose, just passed away from nose cancer earlier this month. It came on very suddenly and the tumor grew to the point where she struggled to breathe or sleep. On her last night, I held her in my arms for two hours while trying to help her breathe through her mouth so she could get just a little more sleep. At the time, I didn't know it was her last night, and I will always treasure those last few hours with her.

She brought so much joy to so many people (stinky breath and all)! She was a little sassy fluff ball who would do absolutely anything for cheese. We taught her to ring a bell to let us know when she needed to go potty (which she quickly exploited and started ringing the bell for snacks, attention, and play time). She had such a spunky spirit and knew how to demand a room.

It's impossible to even measure what this little dog meant to me. I am so beyond blessed to have grown up with her. God showed up in her final moments as she spent them on a blanket outside in the sun with a little doggie charcuterie board made by the vet before they put her down. She was surrounded by her whole family, smiling up at us until the very end. We love you, Gracie.
